Allen & Unwin is now publishing short stories as standalone eBooks. Called A&U Shorts, stories in the series sell for $1.99, and are only available digitally, not in print.
The rationale for the series is clear: 'Some of Australia’s best-loved novelists also write great short stories. They can be hard to find, but now digital publishing offers new opportunities for short form writing.'
