BiographyHistory

Vera Dwyer was the daughter of Sydney Evening News journalist George Lovell Dwyer. In her younger years she was a regular contributor to the Australian Town and Country Journal, where she gained the attention of children's page editor Ethel Turner. During the 1930s she contributed occasional articles on literature and her travels overseas to the Sydney Morning Herald. She was also at one point an active member of the Fellowship of Australian Writers. She married Warwick Coldham-Fussell (then a Lieutenant in the Australian Light Horse Brigade) at North Sydney in October 1915. They divorced in 1925.
