Austlit

Pall Olafsson was a farmer and parliamentarian from the uastern districts of Iceland. For forty years he loved the one woman, Ragnhildur Bjornsdottir, both outside and eventually within marriage. To her he wrote hundreds of poems which were collected only after his death. (Quadrant 47.7-8, 2003, p.32)
