BiographyHistory

Anna Kumarich was born in Sucuraj, a small fishing village on the island of Hvar on the Adriatic Coast. Many of her poems reflect the landscape of her childhood. Kumarich graduated from the University of Zagreb before coming to Australia and working in accountancy. She left Australia in 1974, travelling before returning to Zagreb in 1976. Kumarich returned to Australia in 1984. She has published in Croatian and in English.
