Worldwide renowned baritone Peter Dawson carved out a career of more sixty years. Considered a pioneer of gramophone recordings he released many best-selling recordings of operatic arias, oratorio solos and rousing ballads, and also became the first person to record the song Waltzing Matilda.


  • Dawson was chosen as one of 150 great South Australians by a panel of senior writers to celebrate the 150th anniversay of The Advertiser newspaper, 12 April 2008.
