Born: Established: 24 Aug 1943 Mornington Mornington Peninsula (Port Phillip Bay) Mornington Peninsula Melbourne Victoria ;
Mother of five, Marion McCall was born and brought up in country Victoria and educated at country schools, Melbourne Teachers' College and Melbourne University. She taught in Victoria and England before marrying David McCall, an Anglican priest. They lived in Riverina, NSW and came to South Australia in 1978 when her husband was appointed rector of St George's Anglican Church, Goodwood.
When David McCall was made Bishop of Willochra in 1987 they moved to Gladstone, South Australia. His ministry involved much travelling, and he was driving some 62,000 kilometres a year to parishes and congregations in his rural diocese, which covers a very large part of northern South Australia. To reduce his travelling time, McCall trained and qualified as a pilot at the age of 50, and eventually managed to get a small Cessna in which she flew him to the far-flung centres of his diocese. She belonged to the Rocky River 'Riters' Club at Gladstone and the Jamestown Drama Group.
In 2000 the McCalls moved to the Diocese of Bunbury, Western Australia.
McCall's interests include poetry, growing roses, directing musicals, running Bishop's House and flying her Cessna, Juliett Charlie Sierra.
