email to LCG to check BL for titles. O'Brien born here but may not be BAL eligible SS 26/9/06 reply from LCG 3/10/06: no biographical information on any of the texts you asked me to sight. There is an entry for her in Who Was Who among English and European Authors, 1931-1949 (Detroit: Gale Research, 1978) which says she was born in Sydney, educated at Croydon High School (which could be either UK or Aust), then had her career in London including the titles sighted and journalism in the Evening Standard etc. There are no dates on any of this, and the entry is very brief. It gives her most recent address as in St Leonard's-on-Sea (UK).
On the title page of 'Two sketches for women' the author is listed as 'Kathleen O'Brien, "K.O'B" of Punch'. The author also uses 'K.O'B' to sign off the Author's Note in John Barbara.
