AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'The noise of power tools will soon give way to more refined sounds in Sydney's Paddington, where a historic terrace house will once again become a home to composers. The house is a bequest from composer Peggy Glanville-Hicks and in 1993 it was opened as a studio where other composers could live and work rent-free. It has been empty for two years due to renovations, but the next musician will move in early next year. The Australia Council is soon expected to name the 2013 resident and will award for the first time a $20,000 annual stipend. Matthew Westwood.
