Outcrop is a new anthology which collects contemporary radical Australian poetry of land. Curated by Corey Wakeling and Jeremy Balius, Outcrop transcribes innovative and significant poetical approaches to land at the crossroads of ecologies and language. The collection, rather than an exhaustive survey, represents a diversity of contemporary Australian radical poetic perspectives. These range from land in content and syntax, to voice, ecology, gesture and land of the body. These are poetic experiments with landscape and geopolitics, exemplars of radical visions of land. Outcrop features poetry from Louis Armand, Laurie Duggan, Ali Cobby Eckermann, Kate Fagan, Michael Farrell, Lionel Fogarty, Keri Glastonbury, Matthew Hall, Fiona Hile, Duncan Hose, Jill Jones, John Kinsella, Astrid Lorange, John Mateer, Peter Minter, Sam Langer, Claire Potter, Pete Spence, Nicola Themistes and Tim Wright.' 'Poetry. A collection of work by innovative Australian poets whose work shares an interest in "a primary art of transformation in language" (from the introduction). All contributors traveled to the San Francisco Bay Area in April 2016 to participate in a four-day meeting with similarly-committed U.S.-based poets. The title of the event is also that of the anthology, which its editors intend as an extension and prolongation of the April gathering. ACTIVE AESTHETICS brings news across the Pacific and across the equator of Australia's current radical poetry and poetics. As is true of new poetry in the US, much of the work here reflects the complexity and urgency of political thinking within the aesthetic sphere.'

y separately published work icon In Case of Fire : Poems from the Blue Mountains Michelle Rickerby (editor), Katoomba : Spinebill Press , 2022 25905889 2022 anthology poetry

'Fire symbolises many things – hell, destruction, purification; but also passion, desire and rebirth. It is the perfect metaphor for what can happen when we face our fears and step beyond them.

'The Blue Mountains, situated just outside of Sydney, Australia, is a place with increasing seasonal bushfire risk, yet many call it home and can imagine nowhere more beautiful to live, no community as tight.

'In Case of Fire rose from the ashes of the Black Summer fires, the floods, the pandemic. It features a selection of works from 17 poets based in the Blue Mountains, accompanied by drawings from illustrator Michel Streich.

'The poems embrace humour and sorrow with equal vigour, remaining open and present to all life’s interactions. In Case Of Fire is not a manual for what to do in times of strife, it is something to reach for to soothe the soul.

'Poems by the following writers are included in this anthology: Craig Billingham, Emma Brazil, David Brooks, Kate Fagan, Philip Hammial, Vanessa Kirkpatrick, Sheridan Linnell, Justin Lowe, Carol Major, Peter Minter, Mark O’Flynn, Kasia Olszewski, Meredith Pitt, Michelle Rickerby, James Roy, John Watson and Faye Wilson.'
