The film version of the story of Simpson and his donkey was first mooted around 2012, with a view to filming in 2013 and release in 2014. Discussion went so far as to name the association of specific actors with certain roles, although funding was still being sought.
The film does not, however, appear to have been scheduled for release, and may not have been filmed.
