Andy Griffiths recalls the delights of reading the German picture book Struwwelpeter as a child. 'As an author,' Griffiths says, 'I've tried to create books that give the reader a similar experience to the one I had when I thrilled to the jaw-dropping terrors and over-the-top pleasures of Struwwelpeter.'
Griffiths also passes on his five tips for encouraging children to read.
