The first published anthology of Tasmanian poetry. In their introduction to the anthology, the Editors explain that they have 'attempted to represent the best work of poets born in Tasmania and of those from other parts of the world who have settled at least temporarily in the island'. They also discuss how 'Tasmanian poetry can be seen as a kind of simplified replica, a sharper more highly-coloured version, of mainland complexity', yet at the same time be 'peculiarly Tasmanian' in tone, lucidity, sensibility and theme.
