  • Includes details of a recently announced 'engagement which aroused much interest...that of Miss Joan Chirnside, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Andrew Chirnside, Edrington, Berwick, [Victoria] to Mr Alec Waugh [q.v.]...the author of The Loom of Youth; he is a leading member of one of the most brilliant literary sets in London.'   • Contains a brief reference to 'Miss Winifred James (Mrs Henry de Jan) [q.v.], the well-known Australian writer' who 'has found a picturesque spot in the weald of Kent.
