Notes

  • Thirkell remarks that, 'Mr Norman Lindsay's new novel has been banned'. Although the title of the book is not mentioned, the reference relates to Lindsay's novel, Redheap (1930), which was published in England and subsequently prohibited as an import by Australian Customs in May 1930.
