The Melbourne social column briefly reports that, Beckett Lindsay and Margot Neville (qq.v.) 'who have collaborated in writing a "Drama with Thrills", as they describe it, have just received word of the play's acceptance by an English producer. The pen-names hide the identity of Mrs Daryl Lindsay, Mrs Neville, and her sister Miss Margot Goyder. The two latter have already several witty novels to their credit.'
Note: It seems probable that the drama referred to in this report was the thriller, 'Wolf!', which was co-written by the listed authors and performed in Swanage, England, May 1930.

Includes 'The Decline of English Prudery' (by G. S.), a brief commentary on society's changing standards of morality and propriety. Discussing literary taste, the writer notes that in a 'recent English periodical there is a comment about the long-delayed translation into English of Colette's (q.v.) famous novel, Cheri. Our national prudery is blamed for this delay, and the fact that we are at last allowed to read this in English reflects the change in our attitude to what used to be called risqué stories...Our literature is increasingly candid. That Evelyn Waugh's Vile Bodies should have got through the censorship is a striking evidence of our altered standards.' (content appears in the column, 'Contributed Comments')
