AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'This year marks the publication of two Australian books of very considerable consequence. They are, A House Is Built, by M. Barnard Eldershaw, and Coonardoo, by Katharine Susannah Prichard. For their appearance we are under a debt to the Sydney Bulletin, which awarded prizes to these two works in its recent £1,000 novel competition.'

Notes

  • This review also reviews two works which are outside the scope of AustLit: The Gardens of Japan and Modern Gardens, British and Foreign.
