Jack Briant meets Ned Kelly, who refuses to admit him to the Kelly gang. The next morning Briant meets Jackson, an old farmer, who gives him a job. A day later troopers (policemen) come to the farm accusing the Jacksons of helping the Kelly gang. They treat the old farmer with brutality but Mrs Jackson tricks them and they flee.
