AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Lahwal, a dingo vicious since puppyhood, becomes a loner, a killer afraid of nothing except the white man's gun. He begins to attack the farmers' cattle, especially those belonging to Bourke. Bourke's ten-year-old son finds the dingo killing a calf and tries to frighten him off but he attacks and wounds the boy. Bourke then sets off with others to find and kill the rogue dingo.
