A man accuses his neighbour's boy of killing his bees. This causes a rift between the boy's brother and the beekeeper's daughter. An Aboriginal child takes advantage of the situation and delights in tormenting the beekeeper eventually causing dogs, pigs, cows and bees to devastate his garden. The beekeeper realises his mistake, apologises and the lovers are reunited.

Two Islander brothers want their father's lugger for themselves and decide to murder him. They leave him on the outer reef and wait for him to drown, but the old man builds himself a cairn to exist on during high tide. On the third night, the sons decide to rescue their father, but he has disappeared and they are hung for murder.Note: Appears in 'True Short Story'.
