A column canvassing current literary news including a report on the controversy surrounding the 2010 Chief Minister's Northern Territory History Book Award. At one stage it appeared the award would not be presented as the judges felt that none of the submitted entries met the demonstrated depth of research criteria. (The award was ultimately presented to Peter Grose for An Awkward Truth: The Bombing of Darwin, February 1942.)
