AbstractHistoryArchive Description
'Manuscript book of seventeen illuminated poems by Australian authors. Father Leo Hayes commissioned the book from artist Ella Lilian Pedersen, who, in addition to illuminating and hand-lettering the poems, crafted a tooled leather binding inset with semi-precious gems from Father Hayes' collection. The original cover was damaged, and restored with the remaining gemstone by bookbinder Anne Cloonan.' (Source: Libraries Australia)
