Gift Horse, A. Bertram Chandler , single work short story science fiction
'An uninhabited ship appears over impoverished colony world Dunsinane, in the Macbeth System. The colonists fit the ship for interstellar transport and blast off for Hamlet, but the ship has other ideas, and takes them to the far future, when humans have left the galaxy. The ship was sent by the Central Intelligence of far-future Dunsinane, which has grown lonely and wants people to take care of' (Todd Bennett, The Rim World's Concordance)
