Editor's note: Mr W. A. Holman KC - at present entirely engaged by his work at the Bar - has been one of the foremost figures in the political life of New South Wales. Born in England in 1871, he came to Australia as a young man, and thirty years ago took a prominent part in founding the New South Wales Labor Party. Entering the Legislative Assembly, he held his seat for twenty-one years, occupying various ministerial positions. He was Premier of the Government from 1912 to 1920. No one is better qualified to speak authoritatively of the tendency of Parliamentary Government in New South Wales.
