The Girl at the Teashop, G. S. Cichowski , single work short story
The girls of a small Australian coastal town are amazed by an Englishman who asks them all to 'take tea' in the teashop run by a now disregarded local girl. Failing at all other attempts to meeet the teashop manager, he buys the building that holds her shop, and she eventually takes his desire to marry her seriously.
