'The Circus Oz show is a high-energy animal free spectacular. It is bursting with colour, comedy and breathtaking feats designed to excite audiences of all ages. The show is also a playful theatrical subversion of the idea of 'circus.' We shamelessly plunder the traditions of conventional circus and blend them with topical issues, relevant imagery, contemporary music, physical theatre and comedy. All to the beat of a spectacular live band. A fabulous and flamboyant chanteuse may appear from the sky and set the stage alight while belting out a cabaret song as acrobats surround her in a series of human pyramids.   • Season began in Melbourne 17 June - 12 July 2009 at the Big Top at Birrarung Marr and then toured nationally.
