'In the small Australian town of Hatton River, Liv, a 30-year-old bookworm and would-be librarian, suffers the loss of her only living relative and goes deaf overnight. With her former home now bequeathed to two distant cousins, and her former workplace (the local library) closed due to funding cut-backs, Liv takes a live-in job at the exclusive Cottonwood Retreat, a wine-country resort fifteen kilometres outside her town, a move that helps her to escape local whispers about the role she played in her aunt's death.'
