In this conversation, which is based on a paper given by McKendrick at the Second National Puppetry Summit in Hobart, 2006, the focus is mainly on eight projects undertaken in Australia and its territories, some in remote communities and some close to the city of Perth. These projects included 'Werr Dinh Marn' (Lily Ponds), 'Long Tucker, Slow Yarn', Goorlil Niminggarr' (Shadow of the Turtle), 'Island Shadows', 'Limestone Connection' and 'Walyalup Dreaming'.
