  • Preface: The following Narrative is intended to illustrate the manners and habits of Bush Life in Australia. The Author resided several years amidst the scenes which she has attempted to describe; and all the incidents introduced have had a type of original in her own knowledge or experience.
  • On the last page: Rosalie Plains, June 1851.
  • Set in 'Australia, far to the north'.
  • This novel is possibly by Elizabeth Patricia Ramsay, whose brother Robert took up land at Rosalie Downs in 1839.
