AbstractHistoryArchive Description

An exoneration of Thomas Griffiths Wainewright, transported to Australia in 1837 for forging cheques on the Bank of England. Wainewright had studied seriously as a young man and demonstrated talents for writing and painting. He was something of a dandy in Regency England when he was arrested.
