Examines the inhabitants of Nyngan and the effects of "progress" on the aboriginal and white settlers alike. Extension of railway to Nyngan; "Then, unless a copper-mine or a goldfield is discovered in the district, Nyngan will subside into the rank of a substantial but non sensational inland village".
