  • Play purportedly written in 1845 by the convict Tucker. The authorship is not absolutely confirmed.
  • Based on the ballad 'Billy Barlow in Australia'.

  • Dedication: In memory of Charles Edwin Dick 1875-1953 of Port Macquarie.

Production Details

  • First publicly performed, in a version adapted for radio by Colin Roderick, by the Australian Broadcasting Commission on 8th December 1952.

    Producer: Eric John.


    Then produced by the Adelaide University Theatre Guild, at the Union Hall, Adelaide, 10 March 1966.
