At AustLit : The Resource for Australian Literature, we equipped ourselves with robust and flexible data frameworks. We ensured the data would engage well with itself, other data providers and people. We considered the needs of both the 'Google Generation' and more traditional researchers. We enlighten. We generate relational links between data elements; we publish a newsletter; we promote literary events; we provide a personal alert service. We encourage feedback because sometimes it's the service provider that needs enlightening. We enrich. We publish significant hard-copy reference tools, we seek partners for collaborative projects and we establish and apply rigorous indexing standards. AustLit is enthusiastic about the service it provides and the future of that service.'
