Elaine Van Kempel details the inspiration for the inaugural Watermark Literary Muster in 2003. Van Kempel traces the influence of Henry Kendall and Kylie Tennant on the area of New South Wales around Camden Haven, later re-named Kendall in the poet's honour, and recalls the planning phase for the first Muster.
