AbstractHistoryArchive Description
Australian Playwrights Speak is a series of video interviews produced in conjunction with the Australian Playwrights series of monographs. Both series are the result of a pilot project funded by a Griffith University research grant in 1985. The overall aim of the project was to contribute to the promotion, analysis, and better understanding of Australian drama in Australia and overseas. While the monograph series aims to overview each selected playwright's life and work, along with a critical analysis of their plays, the video programs are designed to let the playwrights speak themselves and to illustrate and personalise their work for better understanding.
