Autobiographical account of Lane's experience as a prisoner of war during World War II. The author acknowledges the contribution of his fellow POWs, 'Norman Colley and the late Frank Florence for the reproduction of the lyrics of their songs and poems.' (Note: Neither writer was Australian, Colley was Welsh and Florence was English.)
