To the Islands Today,
single work
autobiography
The author describes a childhood trip down Moreton Bay on a government supply ship. They stop at two islands, one of which is Peel, a leper colony; the other is Dunwich, home to a few Aboriginal people. The narrator recalls her family's casually racist remarks, which she accepted as a child but which now perturbs her.
