Notes

  • The sequence of poems, each titled 'Every Week', appeared in Humbug between 15 December, 1869 and 12 January, 1870, under the name 'Mopsus'. Marcus Clarke's annotations to his copy of Humbug indicate that Kendall wrote the first of the 'Every Week' poems, however Clarke did not indicate the authorship of the individual poems in the succeeding weeks. Bibliographer Ian McLaren (q.v.) attributed the whole sequence to Kendall.
