'Peter Gouldthorpe, a CBCA award winning illustrator, has been colouring the pages of Australian children's literature for nearly three decades. His literary career was launched in 1983 with the publication of Jonah and the Manly Ferry, which he both illustrated and wrote. The intervening years have seen him bring to rich visual life the words of authors such as Paul Jennings, Colin Thiele, and Gary Crew (q.q.v.). His own words, however, have remained mostly unprinted, but with the release of his latest book No Return: Captain Scott's Race to the Pole he once again fills the dual roles of author and illustrator.'
