"A booklength poem in six sections - meditations undertaken amongst the contingencies of the everyday, whose focus shifts from near to far, from the 'big issues' and abstraction to the individual and particular. Time, and the rough justice and inadequacy of our attempts to gain a hold on it via memory's summations, are its abiding preoccupations. The results are elegy, remembrance, recall, amused commitment .... autobiography, philosophy, cultural commentary." (Cover)
