Notes

  • Author's note: *Based on Northern Territory natives' current belief in the existence of water-lubras who live in the rivers and billabongs. These lubras do not understand the use of fire which the natives use to subdue and quieten them. No matter how long these lubras have been tamed they will return, if they can, to the water, when they can never be caught again.
