Ben Ellis was born in the early 1970s and educated at Bairnsdale High School, Victoria. He studied at The University of Melbourne, gaining an honours degree in history and he has been an affiliate writer to the Melbourne Theatre Company. Ellis move to London, England, in the mid 2000s.
