Jim Hart began his publishing career as an editor before becoming a partner in Lonely Planet Publications, where he stayed until the late 1990s. He has been active in a number of industry bodies including the (ABPA) Australian Booksellers and Publishers Association and its export committee, as well as working in the acdemic area and as a publishing consultant.
