BiographyHistory

After graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Literary and Cultural Studies from La Trobe University, Timothy Kendall has taught sessionally at both La Trobe University and the University of Melbourne. His writing has appeared in a number of journals such as Continuum: Journal of Media and Cultural Studies and the Journal of Australian Studies. He has published several essays on 'Australia's discursive construction of China'. Kendall's publication Ways of Seeing China : From Yellow Peril to Shangrila (2005), is an interdisciplinary examination that looks at 'the strange place China continues to occupy in the Australian psyche'.
