BiographyHistory

'Kellie was born in Mt Isa but moved to Alice Springs where she had a very large family around her. Her grandmother was a Warumungu woman from Tennant Creek and was born at Banka Banka Station. Her grandfather was a traditional Arrernte man, but passed on when she was three years old. Kellie has been writing poetry on and off for years, since the death of her brother. A private person, Kellie found that writing allowed her to express herself at those times when no one was able to understand her.' Source: Message Stick : Contemporary Aboriginal Writing (1997).
