BiographyHistory

Brian Thacker immigrated to Australia with his family at the age of six. The family settled in Melbourne. After studying advertising at university he travelled overseas before spending two years working as an art director for a London advertising agency. Two years after his return to Australia, Thacker travelled again, working as a tour leader in Europe for Top Deck, an 18 to 35 bus tour company, and as a ski guide in Switzerland. After his second return to Australia, Thacker began writing full time. He published the first of his travel books in 2001.
