BiographyHistory

Television scriptwriter Christine Madafferi began as a story editor/storyliner on long-running Grundy prison drama, Prisoner. Her first scripts were also written for the Grundy Organisation, for suburban soap-opera Neighbours. After a brief stint writing for sit-com Acropolis Now, Madafferi moved into a long period of work with the Australian Children's Television Foundation, where she wrote for The Genie from Down Under, Legacy of the Silver Shadow, Sky Trackers, Lift Off, and Round the Twist. Madaferri's most recent work is the feature-film adaptation of Robin Klein's novel Hating Alison Ashley.

A daily television drama series set in the fictional Melbourne suburb of Erinsborough, Neighbours chronicles the lives of the residents of Ramsay Street. The series initially revolved around three families: the Ramsays (at number 24 Ramsay Street), the Robinsons (at number 26), and the Clarkes (at number 28). The scope of the series has since broadened to include new Ramsay Street familes.
