Simon McLean has received numerous prizes and awards for his original artworks and illustration. His works are represented in private collections throughout Australia and overseas. For twenty years McLean produced illustration and art for numerous advertising and publishing companies in Australia and internationally. His work has illustrated successful children's book ranges and he is best known for massively detailed full colour cartoon poster works. His charcoal works on paper and canvas attained recognition through sellout exhibitions and have received critical acclaim for originality in style and theme and been described as anything from brilliantly dark and moody to hilariously disturbing.
