BiographyHistory

George Gibson emigrated to New Zealand in 1869 but moved on to Sydney in 1874. His position as an inspector for the Department of Lands enabled him to travel extensively and provided inspiration for his writing. He also provided the lyrics for Britannia's Jewels: an Australian patriotic song, with music by August W. Juncker (Syd., 1914).
