BiographyHistory

Edmund ('Ned') Stansfeld Rawson settled in the Mackay district in the 1860s, where he and his brothers, Charles Collinson Rawson (1840-1928) and Lancelot Bernard Rawson (1843-1899), held 'The Hollow', a cattle station, and later established a number of business interests. In 1882-1883 he served as a Mayor of Mackay. Before coming to Australia, Rawson had attended Cambridge University, and whilst living here, he maintained his literary interests.
