BiographyHistory

Li Yang is an actor and televison director, now living in Australia. He was born in Beijing and became a full-time actor at the age of nineteen after graduating from high school. He also studied at the 'Beijing Self-Taught University' majoring in Chinese Language and Literature as well as Foreign Literature. He continued working as an actor and furthered his studies through the China Television Dramatic Arts Committee where he took classes in Television Direction and Montage. Yang became the lead actor for the Quan Zong Theatre Company in Beijing, and also appeared in fifteen television dramas. As well, he found success as a scriptwriter and director.

Since coming to Australia he has been able to continue his work for film, television and stage and his credits include leading roles as Mr Wu for Broken English and Triad in The Long Lunch. He has also appeared in television series including Neighbours, Halifax fp, Water Rats and Stingers (qq.v.).
